2008-2011 SGPN Strategic Plan Please take a moment to read the SGPN Strategic Plan for 2008-2011.

This plan is significant as it is the first time our Network has developed an independent long term strategic plan. It was developed over an 18 month period by a subcommittee consisting of four GPs, one community representative and two SGPN staff members. The process included an analysis of the external and internal environment that affects the network, reviewing a range of detailed information including previous GP member satisfaction surveys, demographic data, staff contributions and government policy. The Planning Committee’s forward in the attached plan will give you a more thorough understanding of the process.

We believe the plan gives us a stronger focus and direction for the organisation and helps us to better serve our primary members; the General Practitioners of South East NSW. A full Operational Plan has also been developed around this Strategic Plan .

We welcome your feedback and please do not hesitate to contact Kym Batt or Kathryn Stonestreet at the Network to make comment on the plan or if you require further information.

2007 Mental Health Act Forms

GSAHS has undertaken a review of mental health documentation in emergency departments and the mental health teams across the area to ensure that documents used to schedule clients under the 2007 Mental Health Act are current. GPs are asked to discard any old ‘Schedule 2’ forms as they are no longer valid. An electronic version of the ‘Schedule 1 - medical certificate as to examination or observation of person’ from the 2007 Mental Health Act is available click here (a copy is also attached to the Wednesday Wire, 13 August 2008).
